Planning a future is a very basic thing that we do since we were young, it’s all started with ambitions, a frequently asked question since we started our formal education. Starting from the early education to primary school and to the secondary school, we have always discussed with our relatives and friends on what we wanted to be. Every single time we were asked what we wanted to be, the answer might be differs from what we gave according to our education level. For instance, during primary school, I would tell people that want to be a marine, but when I got into secondary school, I changed my mind, I wanted to be a forensic specialist, and you have guessed it right, I was influenced by the famous television series “C.S.I” which stands for Crime Scene Investigators.
Easier said than done, that would be the easiest way to describe on how
hard it is to live up to your own expectations. We have always aim for the best
job out there, the one that would pay off your bills, provide you enough money
to shop whatever that you desire, enough money to be given to your parents and
you’ll have sufficient leftovers that would be deposited into your bank account
for your future, but we tend to forget that such pays only exist when you’re businessman,
with a multiple companies, provided with constant flow of business
opportunities, or you can excel in your own field of expertise and become a
specialist who’s working for the private sectors.
Planning was easier in contras to the executions, since we always have a
very creative mind, we would think about what are the best possible situations
that would happen with a very minor consideration towards the cons but with the
optimistic attitude that our plan would work out somehow. For instance, as I
mentioned before, I wanted to be a forensic specialist, with the best possible
situations, I would live my life as what I have seen in the television series,
putting aside the cons that I am not good in science, and clueless about
biology, with an optimistic attitude, I registered for the science class, and
you’re right again, I flunked after 2 weeks. I thought science would be fun,
but I was deceived, to me, science was invented by the devil himself.
Picking up the fragments of ourselves after the exams was hard too, when
our efforts was not enough to give us the desired results, each time it will be
harder, knowing that we have strayed away too far from our ambitions.
Decreasing in morale, which would lead to the negativities and next thing you
know, you’ll be standing behind the counter of Mc Donald’s taking orders.
Love what you do and share with others, if you love what you do, you don’t
have to work a single day. In a way, this statement is referring to the
enjoyment that you’d get when you’re doing things passionately, it is not wrong
to have a high ambitions, but it is wrong when they are not executed properly.
